Joseph at 8 months

Joseph continues to grow quickly, and he's getting pretty speedy. So, getting good pictures of him is becoming more and more of a challenge. But, I did manage to get a few pictures of him at 8 months.
So big! Joseph weighed in at 22lbs and was
29in long at his 8 month checkup.
Ok - those were the two where he wasn't moving too much. Here is how most of my pictures turn out lately....
I love this one. I'm laying on the floor and he's crawling on me trying to get the camera.
"I'm coming to get you, mommy!"
I guess I can't expect too much from a curious 8 month old who knows how to crawl.

Our Visit to Florida

A couple weeks ago we went to Florida to visit Will's dad and sister. It was really nice to be able to spend some time visiting and relaxing. Joseph really enjoyed spending time with his grandpa.

Joseph also enjoyed meeting Minnie and Mickey for the first time. Will's dad works for Disney so we were able to take Joseph to the Magic Kingdom.
Joseph's ready for a day of fun!
Joseph's first ride: the People Mover
Family shot :)
Meeting Mickey....
...and Minnie!
Joseph was getting tired...
Getting a good picture of all 4 of us was a bit of a challenge.
Hangin' with Mickey and Minnie.
Joseph thought Minnie's nose was funny.
Getting excited for the Country Bear Jamboree!
Joseph was exhausted by the end of the day...
...but he woke up in time to enjoy the "It's a Small World" ride :)
Our last full day in Florida was Grandpa's birthday (AKA - Ash Wednesday). Aunt Tiffany joined us for dinner and was able to hang out with Joseph a little bit.

Overall I think Joseph really enjoyed his first trip to Florida!!

My little cutie pie

I love this picture. Joseph found his pacifier on the floor and decided to suck on it. He hasn't sucked on a pacifier since he was about 5 1/2 months old. But for some reason he decided to pop the paci in his mouth, sit down, cross his little feet and check out his teether. It was adorable.

Computer-less for a Week

A couple weeks ago I had to take our computer in to get fixed. The screen would randomly go black and it was getting annoying. Little did we know that it would take nearly a week for our computer to be fixed.   A couple of years ago this wouldn't have bothered me as I would have just checked my email at work and dealt with no computer while I was at home. But now that I'm at home full time it was a little more challenging going without a computer (especially the internet) for six days. Even though I had already given up most of my time on the internet for Lent it was still a challenge not being able to communicate by email because that's typically how I contact people.
It was definitely a wake up call for me and made me realize my attachment to our computer. And isn't that what we are all called to do - detach ourselves from the things of this world so that we can love our Lord more deeply? Up until that week I had always thought that I wasn't all that attached to my computer - that I could survive easily without it. Now I know otherwise. I know that, yes, I can survive just as easily without it, but I am definitely attached to it. Not having our computer for those six days actually caused me some anxiety, and that's a problem.
So where do I go from here? That is what I'm left to figure out.
